Preservation
At the HAB preservation activities focus on the following:
This encompasses all old and new media as well as other materials
of the HAB. In the preservation department in the Leibnizhaus
practical training is offered as part of further education
in conservation.
The head of the working group for preservation and restoration
(corbach@hab.de) functions
as adviser for the State of Lower-Saxony and gives advice
to libraries, museums and private persons on issues concerning
preservation and restoration.
In special cases the HAB carries out difficult restoration
of highly valuable or badly damaged materials for other institutions
on a commercial basis.
