European Academic Philosophy during the 16th and 17th centuries: A Schematic Introduction and GuideI am preparing a monograph titled "Academic Philosophy during the 16th and 17th Centuries: A Schematic Introduction and Guide." It will consist of a Chapter 1 (Introduction), Chapters 2 through 6 (curricular documents, general philosophical writings / concepts; theoretical, practical, and rational philosophy) and Appendices (illustrations, biographies of selected academic philosophers, bibliography of primary sources presented, list of recommended, digitally accessible writings; a brief bibliographical guide to secondary literature). Chapters 2 through 6 will each consist of three sections: a. A relatively brief narrative section; b. A list of questions – which can be used for purposes of discussion and/or for further research – to the individual paratexts that are contained in c.; c. Excerpts from primary source materials will be presented in the form of paratexts (for example, dichotomous charts; tables; narrative in outline form). |
