The Herzog August Library participates in two major retrospective national bibliographies:
The competence centre for rare books supports smaller libraries with relevant holdings of rare books, mainly in Lower Saxony, helping them to record their holdings in regional bibliographic databases, preferably the GBV database. Furthermore it helps libraries digitize their collections.
