Bibliography of Books Printed in the German-Speaking Countries from 1601 to 1700 (VD17)

VD17 is a retrospective national bibliography. All titles published in the German-speaking countries irrespective of their language and titles published in German outside the German-speaking countries are being catalogued in the database. Besides the Herzog August Bibliothek the following libraries are participating in the project:

• Sächsische Landesbibliothek / Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, Dresden,
• Universitäts- und Forschungsbibliothek Erfurt / Gotha,
• Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, Göttingen,
• Universitäts-und Landesbibliothek Sachsen-Anhalt, Halle,
• Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek, Weimar,
• Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, München,
• Stadtbibliothek Nürnberg.

At present about 230,000 titles are recorded in VD17.
