HAB-Newberry Library Chicago

Senior-Fellowships: "Van Runset Voltaire-Fellowships"
funded by the Van Runset-Stiftung
The Van Runset foundation was established at the Herzog August Bibliothek in 2006 by the French literature scholar Dr Ute van Runset. Aim of the foundation is to promote Enlightenment studies at the library with a special emphasis on the French Enlightenment for which it runs a fellowship programme for scholars working in this field. The „Van Runset Voltaire-Fellowships“ are addressed at experienced scholars (full professors or comparable experience) who have intensively worked on the 18th century and wish to make a short visit in order to gather source material. They are open to applicants from Germany and abroad and from all disciplines.
Applications can be made for stays of between one and three months. The fellowship is € 2.500 per month. A travel subsidy will also be paid. Fellows who bring their families to Wolfenbüttel may apply for a monthly child supplement (one child: € 300; two children € 400; three or more € 500).
The fellowship is awarded in the expectation that the fellow sees his or her guest status as an obligation to be in study residence in Wolfenbüttel, to participate in the activities of the library and to further academic exchanges between young scholars and senior fellows in the informal atmosphere of the Wolfenbüttel community of guest researchers.
Application for fellowships that could begin in October 2021 (and end in 2022 at the latest) can be sent by April 1st together with a project description, CV and list of publications to email@example.com.
You can find more information about the foundation here.
