The SeDOA was set up to consolidate and expand scholar-led and scholar-owned publishing forms in Germany. It places ^particular emphasis on strengthening diversity, multiperspectivity, need-based justice and quality orientation.
The networking services act as central hubs for the SeDOA project. Together with MWS (Max Weber Foundation) Bonn, UB Braunschweig (Braunschweig University Library), FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure, FH Potsdam (Potsdam University of Applied Sciences), HIIG (Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society) in Berlin and ZB MED (Information Centre for Life Sciences) in Cologne, the Herzog August Bibliothek is responsible for coordinating the exchange of (Diamond) Open Access initiatives at a regional and international level. The SeDOA service centres of the respective institutions form the connecting link between the SeDOA and the German Diamond Capacity Centre (DCC), the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) and the Global Diamond Open Access Alliance.
The Herzog August Bibliothek is responsible for the humanities section.
