In the Augusteerhalle of the Bibliotheca Augusta, around 15,000 volumes from the collection of Herzog Augusts d. J. von Braunschweig-Lüneburg are arranged in ceiling-high rows of books. Particularly outstanding treasures are displayed in the exhibition cases in the Treasury. After the palace and the Meißnerhaus, today's Lessinghaus is Lessing's last residence in Wolfenbüttel. A permanent exhibition here illustrates his life and work. --- The museum in the Bibliotheka Augusta is closed until further notice due to construction work ---
