This new environment will enable all academic publications by members of the research association to be made accessible in digital form. Alongside digital first publications and reprints, other formats can be included as well, such as essays, multimedia formats (e.g. recorded lectures), working papers, etc.

The incentive for using such an environment is the ability to publish research results quickly and in line with modern standards. It also allows the entire research cycle to be mapped in the Digital Laboratory. As a best-practice example of new digital publications, the Zeitschrift für digitale Geisteswissenschaften (ZfdG), the research association’s e-journal which has already become established in the academic community, will be integrated into the publishing environment.
