Board of trustees

A board of trustees composed of leading representatives from the research, administrative and economic sectors is appointed by the Niedersächsisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur (Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture, MWK).

The current board members are:

The board of trustees makes recommendations about fundamental issues – in particular, development planning, filing budgetary needs and resolving important individual questions that could significantly affect the position and activities of the HAB – and about the HAB’s integration into the cultural life of the former province of Brunswick and Lower Saxony.


Academic advisory council

The academic advisory council consists of up to 12 members of international standing. The council advises the management of the HAB and the specialist ministry in all matters pertaining to the HAB and gives recommendations, especially about its research profile, research planning issues, research programme design, and the awarding of fellowships.
